Better Luck This Year!

2009 was a rough year! I hope that we have way fewer of the following in 2010:

1.Doctor's office visits (Lindsey had about 10 and Hunter had about 7, Buck had 2, and I had 2). The kids had ear infections and Lindsey had some problems with her asthma. Hunter ate goat poop and had diareaha for 4 weeks straight.
2. Emergency room visits (Lindsey for her Asthma, Hunter for his eye, and Buck for his mishap with the Mule, and me for having my first serious Migrane. I know I am a baby, but I had never had one before. I thought my brain was exploding............ I don't know why we did not just go to Urgent care for that.)
3. Car Problems (Will that service engine light ever go away?)
4. Less people losing their jobs. (Hope the healthcare bill does not pass, because the government is already in charge of the schools and look how well that is going.......... not to mention the many jobs that will be loss for insurance workers and healthcare officials).

Hoping for Better Luck this year! Welcoming 2010 and putting 2009 behind us! Yeah! Happy New Year Everyone!

This Morning......

Hunter and I were lying in my bed this morning watching tv. I thought that Lindsey was sleeping because she had a rough night last night coughing like crazy. He door was shut because of the humidifier. All of the sudden I hear Lindsey yell from her room:

Lindsey: "Pig! Pig! Get off of that other pig!.............Mom, the other pig is on the girl pig!"

I couldn't help but laugh out loud! I took a video of her telling the story but it would not download. I waited for 3 hours and never finished processing. It was really funny too because she said that she told the goats to watch the girl pig. Maybe we will have some piglets in a few months........

What's going on.....

Well, things have been kind of crazy lately. I am sure everyone has heard of Buck's accident. To make a long story short. Buck got bucked off of a mule he was riding bare back and the mule trampled him. He was taken in a helicopter to Scottsdale Osborn. He was extremely sore and received 6 staples in his head. We left the hospital about 3 hours later. It was very scary for me. It just makes you stop and think about how in a split second your life could change forever. I am just grateful he is okay. He didn't miss a day of work.
Lindsey had her 3 year old birthday the weekend before Thanksgiving. My friend Staci and I spent all of Thanksgiving night and early black friday morning waiting in the insane line at Toys R Us, only to have the things we wanted be sold out. It was still a fun experience. We had Filibertos at 3 in the morning and it was GOOD! Nothing beats the rolled tacos with guacamole.
We had a couple of new additions to our mini farm. We have 2 new pigs and we had 3 new chickens. Only 2 of the chickens were killed by a dog that somehow fit through out fence into our backyard. It was pretty sad. Buck wants to breed the pigs and sell them. We have 2 sows and 1 boar. We also have 2 goats that appear to be pregnant. It's not too bad.
Right now Buck is off hunting with his dad,......riding the same mule that bucked him off and trampled him previously. So you could only imagine that I could be a little worried. Plus, it does not help the fact that it is extremely windy outside and our house is creeking and making all kinds of noises. Just a few minutes ago it sounded like there was someone in the attic. I hope the roof didn't blow off. I think that it is time to go to bed.......if I can sleep with all of the noises. I am glad that I opted not to watch the episodes of CSI that were on the DVR that I have not seen. This might seem silly, but I don't like to watch them without Buck here, because I have a tendency to dream about it and I get scared. I probably should stop watching them altogether. Now I am starting to ramble. Good Night everybody! :)

Christmas Gifts this year.

Last year for Christmas most of you know that I was selling the pictures of the new Presidency of the Church, which by the way, I only have a few left. They are on sell for $10 for the set instead of $15. Please let me know if you are interested in buying one of the last sets. If you don't know what they look like click on "Artwork by Meagan Leavitt" to the right. I also do custom portraits at a pretty good price. This year I was thinking that I would like to try drawing something else, but I am not sure what people want to buy. I have a poll above, please pick what you would want to give your friends or relatives. If you have a different idea, then please comment on this post. Once the poll closes, then I am going to spend the next couple of days drawing so that I can have it done and on the blog before Dec. 1. I am kind of excited about this and I promise that I will not disappoint.

"I just can't have anything nice

Please tell me this phase will pass because it is we have been in it for about 2 years. My daughter likes to destroy everything she can. She is sometimes compared to the tasmainian devil. She just goes from one thing to the next. This is stuff she has ruined in the last couple of days. I do discipline her when she destroys stuff, but she keeps doing it. And the worst part is that she is so super fast about it and she is very sneaky. If you come to my house you will notice that pretty much every wall is written on. I decided to start documenting things she is destroying so that when she has kids I can pull these pics out when she starts complaining that they are destroying things. The one below is Hunter's doing. It is all just exhausting.

5 Years!!!!!

I can't believe it has already been 5 years that Buck and I have been married. Today is our 5 year anniversary! I also wanted to put on here the top 5 reasons I love Buck Leavitt! But first here are some pictures from the past 5 years.
One of my faves

Our whole family for the first time.

Aren't they so cute?

I love this one too because it is so sweet. He was tearing up.
Me pregnant with Lindsey. It was Thanksgiving Day and she was born 3 days later. I was huge and so uncomfortable.
We went on a trip back to where Buck served his mission in North Carolina. We had a blast! For some reason Buck looks like he wants to hurt the person taking the camera. I guess it is his football stare. It kind of makes me laugh.

Buck helping me load my gun to practice for my elk hunt coming up.
The elk that I shot. I was kind of creeped out about touching a dead thing so I had a hard time holding its head up without getting grossed out so he did it for me.
A picture from our wedding reception. I was blonde. And that is the longest my hair has ever been since the 5 grade.

At the temple right after we were married. That was one of the greatest days!

This is our engagement photo. We look so young.
Here are the 5 reasons why I am still in love with Buck Leavitt:
1. He has a strong testimony and is a awesome example of how to serve others. If someone needs help he is the first to volunteer.
2. He is my best friend. I can talk to him about anything and he is there to listen.
3. He is a manly man. He loves to hunt outdoors and can do just about anything when it comes to animals and mountain man stuff. He knows how to work hard and is not lazy one bit. He works hard so that I can be a stay at home mom. He has good examples in his life that have helped him out with this one.
4. He is a great dad. Our kids love him so much and love to follow him around and he lets them.
5. He is a big goof ball! There is rarely a dull moment. Sometimes when I am fuming mad he finds a way to make me laugh or smile because he knows I have a hard time being a mean or mad person.
Buck, I love you and I am looking forward to many many years to come.

My cute little frankenstein ... and the PIG!

Well, Hunter was walking around on my bed this morning and tripped. He fell and hit his eye on the corner of the desk and then fell to the ground. I felt so bad for him! His eye would not stop bleeding. I was not sure how to clean it and I could see flesh and it made me uneasy. So I thought that he probably needs stitches. Needless to say, if he has this same cut anywhere else on his body I would have cleaned it myself and butterflied it shut, but because it was so close to his eye we were off to Urgent Care. I went to Urgent Care because it is seriously cheaper and they said they did stitches. The doctor took a good look at it and was too nervous about it so he sent us to the hospital. (Thanks alot!) So off we went to the hospital and 3 hours later we were finally all set to go home. He is a trooper! I love this little boy so much! He is such a good boy. I could not ask for a better kid! 2 days ago I bought his Halloween costume. I almost got him a frankenstein outfit and now I am wishing I would have. He is my little frankenstein:)

The other day we ate lunch and Hunter was at the table by himself and Buck and I were working on things. I looked over and could not help but laugh. Hunter had both feet on the table and was just kicked back, all relaxed. I had to grab my camera a take a few pictures, but he caught me.

Here is the PIG! We have not named her yet! I am taking suggestions. She is alot bigger than she looks in the picture. Lindsey and Hunter were outside playing in the backyard and I saw Lindsey by the gate to the pen and I yelled, "Lindsey, don't you let that Pig out! She'll get you." Her reply, "Okay, mom I won't!" Not more than 2 minutes later Lindsey came running in the house, "Mom, the pig is out in the backyard." Sure enough, she was out running a muck and there stood Hunter 1/4 her size just staring and I am starting to panic, because she is big and she is going crazy! So I rush my kids inside and get the broom. That doesn't seem to work, so I grab some food and throw it in the pen and she goes in. Of course Buck wasn't home and I have to admit, it kind of freaked me out. I kept thinking, "She is going to knock me over and get me all stinky.......I hope she doesn't bite." I am just glad it all worked out okay......until next time.
